Quality Control Supervisor
Day Shift
Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm

Summary:       
The primary function of this position is to monitor the product quality, and perform testing related to product quality.  Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs to drive a quality product and prevent reoccurrence of defects escaping to the customer. Perform & promote daily quality inspection activities to drive quality throughout the operations at Martin Door.

Essential Duties:
  1. Maintain database of current and past issues and corrective actions.
  2. Perform daily support of manufacturing related issues, resolution, and corrective actions.
  3. Maintain, enhance and measure tracking for in house quality issues and resolutions.
  4. Understand manufacturing capacity and quality processes of suppliers and validate they are adequate for Martin’s production demands.
  5. Facilitate new part approval process from suppliers.
  6. Assist production with standard operating procedure creation and communication.
  7. Drive root cause analysis exercises to find solutions to ongoing issues.
  8. Lead quality control meetings to help drive a quality centric culture.
  9. Perform receiving inspection of supplied parts as required.
  10. Perform calibration of small hand tools and other measuring instruments and work with 3rd parties on all high-level calibrations that are required.
  11. Verify certifications of incoming materials meet specifications.
  12. Product testing for reliability and compliance.
  13. Support and help identify continuous improvement projects.
  14. Guide the QC team efforts in the best possible direction.
  15. Time and attendance approvals of QC team members.
  16. Perform garage door wind load testing and reporting for code compliance.

Marginal Duties:
  1. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Management.
Competencies Required:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to earn trust and relationships with factory staff.
  • High integrity, strong work ethic, and detail oriented.
  • Excellent computer skills required, including experience with Microsoft Office programs. ERP experience preferred.
  • Has a high level of attention to detail, organization, and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position manages processes, procedures and direct reports assigned.

Education and Experience: 
Bachelor's degree in a technical or related field and a minimum of 5 years experience required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential responsibilities and duties as listed above.

Work Environment:
Work is performed primarily inside an office environment.   The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate in other situations.

Travel:
This position requires no travel.
